Ghazal Srinivas's Steps for World Peace:

  • He played a major role in the 1538-kilometer Peace Padayatra (foot march) from Delhi to Multan in 2005 for peace and friendship between India and Pakistan. The Hindi peace songs audio album “Shanti Yatra” was released by President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
  •  In 2006, he participated in peace conferences in Lahore, undertook a two-day fast, and conveyed the peace aspirations of Indians to the people of Pakistan. He is a peace advocate (Shanti Kamuku).
  •  From 2009 to 2016, he regularly toured war-torn Afghanistan, even in remote areas. He presented Afghanistan’s glorious history and India’s desire for peace through his albums and concerts in Dari and Pashto languages, facing many local attacks. He is a courageous peace singer.
  • During a 2011 tour of Africa, he presented an album of peace songs sung in Swahili, Zulu, and Amharic languages to Kenya’s Agriculture Minister and Gandhian, James Oringo.
  • In 2016, he toured Israel and released a tribute video song on the occasion of the IDF war centenary. Upon the request of a group of parliamentarians including Mr. Yudhan Glick, Dr. Ghazal Srinivas sang peace songs in Hebrew and Hindi in the Parliament Central Hall.

Afghanistan Olympic Peace Medal Honor:

  • In 2016, the Afghanistan Olympic Association honored Dr. Ghazal Srinivas with the “Afghanistan Olympic Peace Medal.” Dr. Ghazal Srinivas is the first Indian to receive this honor.
